Meet Our Team:

Alyson Parkinson is a Junior at Caroline High School, and has been a part of the musical theatre industry since she was 8 years old. Her favorite roles include Thing 1 in Seussical and the Countess Lily in Anastasia the Musical. When not onstage, Alyson indulges herself with volleyball, writing and photography. She receives spectacular vocal training from Anglea Donadio, women’s pastor of River of Life Church.

Angel is thrilled to make her adult directing debut with Into the Woods! After years of working with kids and teens in Caroline’s arts community through summer camps, school productions, and youth theater, she decided it was finally time to let the grown-ups have a turn. She was drawn to Into the Woods for its layered storytelling, emotional depth, and the reminder that even fairy tales have consequences and community is what gets us through them. Angel is passionate about creating spaces where performers feel empowered, supported, and just a little bit magical. This show has been a dream come true, and she’s beyond grateful to this wildly talented cast and crew. Huge thanks to her forever team Tommy, Jacob, and Lennon for their love, patience, and total acceptance of a house abandoned in favor of rehearsals, missed dinners, and a whole lot of theater dreams coming to life.

Bree is SO EXCITED to be in another show with CCT after a much-needed hiatus (weddings don’t plan themselves!) She went looking for ways to get back into theater after graduating from Randolph-Macon College with her BA in Theatre Arts in 2019 and working at Riverside Dinner Theatre in 2020 briefly before covid shut everything down (BOOOOOO). She heard about CCT’s auditions for Almost, Maine and never looked back (fun fact: Almost, Maine was the first ever production Bree was involved in waaaaay back in high school!). Bree now serves on the Board for CCT and is so happy to have found her people. Bree is a self-proclaimed Disney princess, so she is ecstatic to be playing Cinderella (swing) for a few matinee shows. She hopes you all enjoy your trip Into the Woods with her and the rest of this AMAZING cast.

Daniella Macklin-Soto is thrilled to return to CCT as Granny/Giant in Into The Woods! Her first show since her last appearance in “Noises Off!” As Poppy Norton-Taylor last season. You may also recognize her from CCT’s 2023 show “The Marvelous Wonderettes” as “Betty-Jean” or from her Directorial Debut of “Almost, Maine” last season. Daniella has been doing theatre since she was very young. After going on a small hiatus, Daniella is so excited and so pumped to revive something that she held so close to her heart and get back on the stage. Daniella’s favorite part of CCT is the overall family energy that radiates from its heart and core. As the show states, no one is alone here with CCT ❣️. She is very thankful for her cast and crewmates, and hopes you enjoy our trip Into the Woods.

David holds a B.A. in Theatre from University of Mary Washington. This is his first role with Caroline Community Theatre and he is excited to be back on the stage. He was last seen on the Fredericksburg Theatre Ensemble stage as Harold in The Boys in the Band. Favorite roles include Papa Bear in Shrek the Musical, Beethoven in Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead, and Alonso in The Tempest. Other roles include featured background roles in House of Cards and Copycat Killers. He works as a Case Processing Supervisor for the District of Columbia Superior Court. He is thankful for his husband Elijah’s continued love and support.

Dylan finally found his way Into The Woods and couldn’t be happier about it. He’s so grateful to be making his CCT debut—big thanks to Angel and Kelsie for bringing him along on the adventure! (Jud), Murder on the Orient Express (Hercule Poirot); Dogwood Dell: Something Rotten! (Shylock).

After making a promise to audition for, and making an appearance in Caroline High School’s most recent production — Anastasia, Jacob could not be happier to be back on the stage amongst such star studded talent when it comes to his place in Into The Woods. Not only is it time spent amongst some of his closest friends, it’s time spent amongst his family. He would like to specially shout out Jay, Alyson, and Travis as they now carry on the torch of being CCT’s only high school actors and actresses to preform. He would also like to shout out his mother, Angel (The Director) and his father and siblings, Tommy, Kaden, and Lennon. Who are always there to support his acting ambitions. And last but definitely not least, Jayna who literally means the world to him, not only at CCT but outside of it as well.

Jay is so honored to be a part of their first show with CCT! Jay is a junior at Caroline High School and has been in the theatre space for almost 8 years now. Some of their favorites roles include Erzulie in Once on This Island the Musical, and Anya in Anastasia the Musical. When they aren’t performing, they love making art, crocheting and playing the piano. Jay would like to thank their mother and sister for always supporting them through whatever hobbies they chose to explore, as well as their phenomenal vocal teacher Eric Armstead.

Jayna Sánchez-Luca is excited to dust off her vocal chops and cast a few melodic spells as “The Witch” with this incredible cast of Into The Woods.
Although this is her fourth show with CCT, it’s Jayna’s first musical! Well, since high school (2011) where she played “Ms. Hannigan” in Annie. Jayna’s excited to play another “villain” because there’s always more to those characters than meets the eye—she enjoys the creative challenge of empathizing with the person everyone is supposed to hate. 😈
By way of thanks, Jayna would like to extend a huge amount of gratitude to her fellow cast mates, the crew, and her wonderful director, Angel for casting her in this dream role!! In particular, Jayna thanks her wife Melody who has continually supported her with unconditional love throughout every step of this process— (¡te quiero mucho, mi amor! eres mi mundo entero. congratulations on your music directorial, debut! i’m SO proud of you.)
In her spare time, you can find Jayna painting, writing poetry, or drinking coffee on her back deck with her dog, Captain. For a link to Jayna’s digital poetry chapbook (QWĒN B) visit her Instagram, @babybluejay33.

Jenelle is so excited to be playing the role of Cinderella’s mother and Snow White in this Musical. By day she is a high school Biology Teacher, but in her spare time she loves painting and teaching kids in theater and improv classes. She has been spending the last few years working behind the scenes helping with productions her kids have been a part of and is thrilled to be doing this show with 2 of her kids, her husband, and the rest of these awesome people at CCT.

Jerahmai is 16 years old and this is his first time acting with CCT, but his 16th show overall. He is overjoyed to be playing Rapunzel’s prince in this production. Some of his favorite roles of the past have been Dimitri in Anastasia, Thenardier in Les Mis, and Patrick in Spongebob the Musical. He hopes you enjoy this show as much as he has enjoyed being a part of it with this amazing cast.

Kathleen has a background in classical voice (BA) and an MA in executive leadership. Throughout the last 15 years, Kathleen has been very active in the local music and theater scene. Most recently seen at CCT as the director for “Noises Off!” Some of Kathleen’s favorite roles include Deena in Almost Maine,  Doralee Rhodes (9 to 5), Proserpina (L’Orfeo), The Opera Singer (L’Amour) and Velma Kelly (Chicago).  Kathleen is an award-winning dramatic soprano, who performs locally and serves on CCT’s board as the Artistic Director. She would like to thank her husband, Josh, for always supporting her drive and ambition in all things, but especially for encouraging her to continue to pursue music and theater.

Kelsie is excited to be making her back scenes debut for Caroline Community Theatre as the Stage Manager for Into The Woods. Partnering with Angel as director and working with such an exceptional cast and crew has been a dream come true and she is so excited to see it all come together! Previously Kelsie has been involved in stage with CCT including playing Mollie Ralston in The Mousetrap, Jeanette in Almost, Maine and multiple roles in Plaza Suite. She also serves as president of the board for CCT and is always looking for new and exciting ways to grow our outreach and community impact and involvement. She is grateful for the constant support of her husband Ty who volunteers on set building, including welding the new light bars used for this show. They are excited to be growing the next generation of theatre in their son, David, and newest addition to the family, Oliver who made his grand appearance just in time for the show.

Ley is delighted to grace the stage of Caroline Community Theater for the first time, playing the ever-dashing, ever-charming Cinderella’s Prince in Into the Woods. Previous roles have included Professor Plum in Clue: On Stage (Homefront Players), Michel in Murder on the Orient Express (HTC), and George in The Drowsy Chaperone (HTC), among others. When not on stage, Ley enjoys his long walks on the stage left side and waiting for his next brilliant performance. He extends his deepest thanks to the incredibly talented Angel Moreland for the opportunity, and to his ever-patient husband, John—who, despite his best efforts, will never quite grasp the level of greatness Ley is destined for.

Lisa was born and raised in Caroline County. Now living in Richmond, she has recently performed in shows for the On the Air Radio Players (OTARP), the Henrico Pops Chorus, and the River City Community Players. She has also written and directed two shows with and is a founding member of the Watermelon Otter Players. Her next project will be directing An Hour of Dimension X for OTARP in July. She would like to thank her partner Jake, her parents, this wonderful cast and crew, and you the audience.

Maddie is over the moon to be making her CCT debut. Previous roles include Vivienne Kensington in Legally Blonde the Musical (Homefront Players) Heather Chandler in Heathers the Musical (Castaways Theatre) and Janet Weiss in The Rocky Horror Show (Hesse House Theater). She wants the thank the spectacular cast, crew, and creative team for their outstanding talent and kindness. Finally, she wants to thank her family, friends, and Sam for their boundless love and support.

Melody never imagined that submitting a design for CCT’s logo contest would lead to this—but she’s so glad it did! After winning the contest, she also helped revamp the website, then pitched in on music… and eventually became Co-Music Director with the wonderful Rebecca. A lifelong musician, Melody plays piano, french horn, and mellophone, and was proud to serve as brass captain for her high school’s state silver medalist marching band. Though she’s stayed musically active over the years, this is her first time in a while creating music as part of a larger group—and she absolutely LOVES it.
She is deeply grateful to her wife, Jayna, for her constant love and encouragement; to her family and friends; and to the entire Into the Woods cast and crew. What began as a side project has joyfully taken over her life, and she couldn’t be happier to be swept up in the magic of community theatre.

Michael is pleasantly surprised to be invited back to the CCT stage. You’d think they’d have learned their lesson after casting him in Don’t Talk to the Actors, The Tell-Tale Farce, The Actor’s Nightmare, Plaza Suite, and Almost, Maine. His other credits include Antonio in Much Ado About Nothing for Fredericksburg Theatre Ensemble, and Wadsworth in Clue for Stage Door Productions. He would like to thank his family for their tireless support and give a quick shout out to Harold. Enjoy the show!

A huge thank you to my loving family and friends for always supporting me and putting up with my antics…. and for making them sing different character parts at home as I was trying to decipher sondheimian rhythms. Xoxo

Samantha is pleased to be joining the cast of Into the Woods with Caroline Community Theatre. She would also like to thank her partner: Myles Miller, for his dazzling love and unconditional support. Finally, Sarah thanks her aggressively loving found families: Caroline Community Theatre and her Dungeons and Dragons crew, without whom none of this would be possible.

She is particularly excited to sink her teeth into the unforgettable Stepmother in this production of Into the Woods.

Beyond her theatrical endeavors, Tanya enjoys a fulfilling career with Randstad Sourceright. When not baking up a storm, she finds joy in photography and cherishing moments with her family including granddaughters Evelyn and Lily. Tanya extends her heartfelt gratitude to her husband, Matthew, along with Andrew, Bryan, Katie and Lauren for their unwavering support. Performing Into the Woods has been something she’s wished since the mid-80s! She has found her cast mates to be truly spectacular and hopes everyone leaves the woods with a newfound appreciation for the tangled truths and unexpected lessons found within every fairy tale.
